By dissecting a pitch page and filling in the blanks the best you can, one no longer has to spend hundreds of dollars on the latest launch or the latest scam.
If you’re really interested in a specific product, and you’ve been watching the hype grow and grow during those all critical pre-launch days then go ahead and check out the sales (pitch) page when it comes to launch time, (if their server hasn’t crashed!) but really read it over before just plugging in your, or your boyfriend or girlfriends, or your spouses, or your mom or dad’s, grandparents, best friends, co-worker’s credit card number. If you can afford it and it’s no big
deal than go for it. If it works it works, right? And hopefully it does. HOWEVER, if you’re thinking about putting up half of next month’s rent for this launch, thinking you can earn it back and more because that what they said on the pitch page then, WHOA! Whoa, whoa, whoa! Let’s not get crazy. First of all, good copywriters go right for the jugular vein. They know exactly how to appeal to the masses. The ‘masses’ here being desperate, money-seeking individuals who know they can do it, who know they can make this work, and will beg, borrow, or steal to pay for this opportunity to make tens of thousands of dollars a month.
My first point is this:
- DON’T BE HASTY (Don’t be too quick to give up the cash, even if you have it)
You’ve got time so use it to your advantage and make an informed decision.
-
READ THE PITCH PAGE THOROUGHLY
Take a half hour and read through it, leave, then come back to it
-
READ IT WITHOUT ADJECTIVES
That’s ADjectives not OBjectives such as Huge, Extremely, 100%
-
DON’T ALLOW YOURSELF TO GET PRESSURED
No, you don’t have to act fast. ‘Only 50, 35 spots left!’ That’s complete bs! Don’t believe me? Return to the site the next day and see if it’s been updated.
If you’re seriously thinking about sinking half your rent into something, you better be sure it’s going to generate revenue for you. You have to be responsible, that should go without saying.
My second point is this:
- By dissecting the Pitch Page, one can find enormous information about the product.
For the most part, these Pitch Pages are very, very competitive. So much so that they almost have to give up their ‘secret weapons’ in order to be enticing enough to get sales. That’s where a smart person comes in and
- Reads between the lines,
- Fills in the blanks,
- Takes what works and impliments it, and
- Saves hundreds of dollars in the process.
The bottom line on the pitch page is this: No matter what the Pitch promises, you’ll always find this at the very bottom. It’s usually in very small print, so I’ve enlarged it. It’s the old ‘disclaimer’. I wonder how much money people would have saved if this was at the top of each Pitch Page as opposed to hidden at the bottom?
